Anadromous - spawns in freshwater, migrates to Atlantic Ocean to mature. Iteroparous - can survive spawning and return to sea to spawn again (unlike Pacific salmon). Native to North Atlantic from North America to Europe. Silver-blue coloring with black spots above lateral line.
